{"id":105,"date":"2022-06-27T09:43:58","date_gmt":"2022-06-27T07:43:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.itc-packaging.com\/blog\/en\/?p=105"},"modified":"2022-06-27T09:44:01","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T07:44:01","slug":"itc-takes-part-in-the-reusephb-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itc-packaging.com\/blog\/en\/itc-takes-part-in-the-reusephb-project\/","title":{"rendered":"ITC takes part in the ReusePHB project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Created with the main purpose of developing two types of reusable containers that are also safe in terms of food contact, this project was developed by a consortium comprising AIMPLAS Technology Centre, the University of Valencia and ITC Packaging. One of these two containers is polypropylene (PP) based, while the other is polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) based.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ITC Packaging has taken part in the project by collaborating in the development of a new container that may be reused for a specific number of cycles, in addition to being suitable for food contact and furthermore, a packaging that is also compostable at the end of its life cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this innovative solution, we shall be working towards our goal of optimising container sustainability from three different angles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong><em>Reusing<\/em><\/strong>: all reusable containers reduce the consumption of resources while minimising waste generation;<\/li><li><strong><em>Renewable raw materials<\/em><\/strong>: they promote the usage of renewable sources such as the waste produced by the agricultural food industry;<\/li><li><strong><em>Compostability:<\/em><\/strong> by reusing waste materials that are at the end of their life cycle through composting, we can obtain valuable compost to begin a new cycle.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI as per its Spanish acronym), ReusePHB involves the participation of Aimplas, ITC Packaging and the University of Valencia&#8217;s Research Group COAL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"252\" src=\"https:\/\/www.itc-packaging.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/logo-UE_FEDER_convivencia_AVI_Actuacion_vertical_cas-2-600.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-106\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Created with the main purpose of developing two types of reusable containers that are also safe in terms of food contact.
