ITC Packaging enhances its commitment towards sustainability and recycled materials thanks to the ISCC Plus certification.

Biobased, rPP Food Grade, Sustainability 7 de December de 2021

With this new certification, ITC Packaging become pioneers by being able to manufacture thin wall containers from food grade materials sourced from recycled chemicals.

ISCC Plus is a protocol that leads the transition towards a bio economy and circular economy via its certification system that involves the entire value chain responsible for placing containers on the market.

Thanks to this seal, we can ensure the traceability of all raw materials, thereby guaranteeing that they come from sustainable sources while promoting the circular economy.

By achieving the Mix Supporting Certified Recycled Material seal, ITC have become pioneers when it comes to offering its customers new circular containers manufactured from materials sourced from recycled chemicals that are suitable for food contact. Thus, ITC Packaging renews its policy commitments to implement circular economy systems where our containers are recovered and reused, thereby creating a raw materials reutilisation cycle.

In order to ensure traceability of all polymers, all players involved in the marketing of each container must also obtain this certification, including waste collectors and segregators, raw material manufacturers and converters, as well as the packing companies that will market the product.

By collaborating with ISCC Plus, we shall also be able to include new bio based materials into ITC’s portfolio to guarantee raw material sustainability on the global scale. Through this process, we can take advantage of the biomass arising from the biological waste produced by agriculture, the primary sector and selective waste collection in order to produce new, biobased materials that contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions.
