ITC Crea has developed the Bio2Bio line. Compostable bottles, pots and containers (UNE: EN 13432:2001) that are very strong, transparent and they have water vapour and oxygen barrier properties.

Circularity for the food and non-food markets

The Bio2Bio line developed by ITC includes packaging made with biopolymers that come from non-fossil fuel sources such as maize, beetroot or sugar cane crops. As well as being compostable, the bioplastics used are an innovative, environmentally friendly solution that promotes organic recycling because the packaging can be put in the brown container. 

All the products made with Bio2Bio comply with the existing law on sustainability and food safety, which makes these bottles food-grade and also suitable as packaging for dermocosmetics.
 

    The best option: barrier, transparent and impact resistant

    The Bio2Bio bottles improve the properties and the features of the generic bioplastics:
    • They increase the oxygen and water vapour barrier by up to 25-30% 
    • They improve the mechanical properties, the tenacity and the impact resistance, they increase the elongation at break values by up to 7 times compared to other biopolymers.
    • They have good transparency, which is considerably better than that of the traditional biopolymers.

    In the brown container

    Through this type of solution ITC Crea enhances the portfolio of ITC Packaging sustainable solutions with new bio-based and compostable packaging. With these innovations we are in line with the sustainability policies of the EU and those of the member countries that advocate recyclable solutions (all our packaging is), recycled or compostable.
