During the plastic adjustment process, we can introduce different levels of rPET which, in some cases, can amount to 100% of recycled material.
Food grade rPET is suitable for food contact and may be added to both our food packaging (PETpack) and cosmetic container ranges. Since most PET in the market is used to manufacture food packaging, thereby ensuring that the original PET plastic was already suitable for food contact, we can reuse waste materials sourced post consumption.
At ITC, all our recycled PET is capable of maintaining the same mechanical features than virgin polymers, including a high level of transparency with only a very slight colouring depending on the amount of rPET it contains. It is also possible to obtain recycled PET sourced from depolymerisation.
